Updated: May 28 2010 Exporting Animations to Flash There are several ways to export animations from Poser, but the Macromedia Flash option is an obvious one. After creating the animation in Poser, use the "Make Movie" option to create a shockwave (.swf) file to be imported to Flash as a movie clip. When you import the movie into Flash, it is a good idea to create a graphic symbol and copy the frames from the movie clip into the graphic symbol. An obvious advantage of the graphic symbol is that you can view the animation by "scrubbing" the slider over the timeline. Otherwise, you will have publish the movie before you will be able to see the animation. The background will be transparent in the exported .swf file, so it is easy to combine the exported image with other content in Flash. Another method is exporting the animation from Poser as a series of bitmap images. Flash will automatically merge the images into a movie clip or graphic symbol, but the background will not be transparent if you use jpg format. Fortunately, Flash provides a way to remove the background, but it could be tedious if you have a of images to import. I have found the best way is to export from Poser as a series of "png" images. By default, the background of the png image is transparent when exported from Poser. You can create a foreground image, then lay that on top of any desired background image. This has the advantage of allowing animations to be reused just by switching out the background. I have also found that if you want to use the png images in Premiere elements 7, the background will be transparent so you can combine images in the movie editting software and go directly to your desired movie format.
